Fukui Prefecture and nuclear facility operators set up monitoring stations (Monitoring Posts) for each, and have been monitoring the environmental radiation to confirm the safety level of the surrounded area of nuclear power plants.
The monitoring stations are scattered across the wide area around 5 nuclear sites in Fukui Prefecture. Fukui Prefecture has 44 stations and nuclear power plant operators 62 stations. Adding to the 11 stations for the environmental radioactivity standard investigation by MEXT, in total, 117 stations are monitoring environmental radiation for 24 hours.
This site provides the latest data sent from those stations.
The locations of the prefectural monitoring stations are shown in the map below. In those stations, radioactivity concentration out of the air (11 spots) and weather observation (all the spots) are researched as well as the radiation dose rate.
On this site, the names of the prefectural monitoring stations are displayed as “Pref. (location) MS”.
There are two types of prefectural Stations, building type and cubicle type. There are 39 building type stations and 5 cubicle type stations.
Pref. Nagai Station(building type)
Pref. Hikida Station(cubicle type)
Pref. Uryu Station(aluminum panel type)
The locations of the monitoring stations of nuclear facility operators are shown in the map below.
Details of those stations are as follows:
○The Japan Atomic Power Company: 10 spots
○Kansai Electric Power CO. INC.:40 spots
○Japan Atomic Energy Agency: 12 spots
On this site, monitoring stations of the operators are displayed as “(location) MS” or “(location) MP”. MS stands for monitoring station, and MP for monitoring post.
Urasoko MS(The Japan Atomic Power Company)
Takahama MP3(Kansai Electric Power CO. INC.)
Matsugasaki MS(Japan Atomic Energy Agency)
The locations of the monitoring posts where Fukui Pref., entrusted by MEXT, settled to observe the level of air radiation dose rate are shown in the map below.
The level of air radiation dose rate is observed all over Japan, and the observed data is released on the MEXT Website.
