Electrical output is expressed as a percentage of power generator output at the indicated time for the authorized rating electrical output.
Display of the Electrical Output
In this site, the electrical output of the nuclear power plant is displayed as below
- Web Map Display･･･Electrical output appears in the balloon, which is displayed by pointing the icon of the nuclear power plant displayed in the web map by the mouse. The data is displayed as latest 10 minutes data.
- Fixed Map Display･･･Electrical output of the each power plant is displayed on the each map of “Near area around the power plant”, and “Middle area around the power plant”. The data is displayed as latest 10 minutes data.
- Trend Graph Display･･･It is displayed as the time-series graph from past data to the current time for each power plant. 10 minutes data, one hour data, 4 hours data, and one day data are provided.
- Listed Display･･･Latest electrical output of all the power plants is displayed as 10 minutes data.
About the Electrical Output
The electric output of power plants sometimes exceeds the rating electricity output, because the efficiency of power generation changes by seawater temperature.
In nuclear power plants, both boiling water reactor (BWR) and pressurized water reactor (PWR) generates electricity by turning a turbine by the steam, finally.
After having passed the turbine, the steam is cooled in the steam condenser and converted back to the water, and then the atmospheric pressure in the condenser becomes very low (almost a vacuum).
The atmospheric pressure in the condenser depends on the seawater temperature that cools the steam, and in winter, the pressure decreases in accordance with the seawater temperature, then the efficiency of the power generation is improved by the difference in pressure with the steam.
nbsp;In the power plant, while the nuclear reactor is operated to keep its heat output at the authorized rating level by the nuclear reactor setting permission (rating heat output-constant operation), in winter season, that efficiency of the electrical output is improved because of decreasing of seawater temperature, its electrical output exceeds the rating electrical output.
Therefore, displayed value of the electrical output sometimes exceeds 100%.
